Positive: The location was just perfect as it wasn't far from the inland hwy , many cool , artsy stores around, and we loved the privacy at this guesthouse. We loved the interior of the guesthouse!! It was clean, gave us both a comfy homey feel with fantastic decor and live plants! My husband and I felt that ALL our simple needs were met....and more ! We did take a couple of photos, but they are pretty much the exact photos that are on the booking.com site.
Negative: The Guesthouse team couldn't have handled that extreme heat on those two days we were there. The team already had a couple of AC devices ready to go when we arrived. It just was a couple of real hot days....but we could cool the guesthouse down enough to be comfortable.
Summary: This Guesthouse is one of the best we've stayed at in our 30 years of travel !

Positive: The property was attractive, well appointed and comfortable. We loved that we could bring our dog. We loved the artistic decor and comfortable patio. We loved the expresso maker, well stocked frig and the availability of fans.

Negative: If I had to be really picky I’d say it’s a little too warm inside. Other than that I couldn’t fault it.

Positive: We had an absolutely wonderful time at Emily’s house! The house is not only beautiful and very cozy, but also perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need – and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace and simply taking in the peaceful atmosphere. What truly makes Velvet Fern Guesthouse special is the thoughtful and loving attention to detail: everything was personally and carefully prepared for our arrival, including a lovely breakfast and bikes we could use – such a kind touch! We felt welcome and at home from the very first moment. Thank you so much, Emily – we’d love to come back!

Positive: The host Emily made a very considerate arrangement for breakfast, we love the hard/soft broiled eggs! Rooms are very clean and cozy. There are bikes available for guests to use, we just didn't have enough time to enjoy a ride in town.
